KORCULA, an island in the central Dalmatian archipelago. Tranquil and rich, in culture and soil which gave life for centuries, ideal for a peaceful holiday escape – in one word Korcula.
The island was first settled by Mesolithic and Neolithic people, with profes of life in Vela Spila, near Vela Luka, one of the most significant archeological sights in Europe. Dark for its pine tree forest and so called Melaina Corcyra was a great supplier of timber for shipbuilding in history. One of the oldest legal documents, Statute of Korcula, describes the strive for autonomy and order.
Unspoilt nature with beautiful coastline, coves and little islands, offer a possibility of always finding that private, peaceful spot.
